The Sports Department serves as the student representative body and is therefore your point of contact for university sports at Clausthal University of Technology.

As a body of the Clausthal University student body, a maximum of four representatives handle management, financial administration, public relations, and communication with the individual sports groups.

The Sports Representatives are elected annually by the representatives of the individual sports groups in Clausthal University Sports at a meeting of representatives held within the first four weeks after the start of the summer semester. We must report on our activities to this body every six months.

 

Our Responsibilities

• We provide financial support to students to enable them to participate in athletic competitions (such as tournaments or German university championships).
   
• We provide financial support to the instructors of the sports courses to enable them to participate in continuing education and first aid courses.
   
• We cover the cost of your instructor insurance for activities in Clausthal University Sports
   
• We assist the SITUC with the annual planning of the University Sports Festival, the traditional Campus Run, and the Boathouse Festival.
   
• We are responsible for the content and editorial direction of University Sports’ social media presence (on Facebook and Instagram)
   
• We organize and host the representatives’ meeting.
   
• We participate in meetings at the Sports Institute (SITUC) and in the University Sports Senate Commission, and we also advocate for your interests in the committees of the University Sports Association of Lower Saxony/Bremen (HVNB) and the General German University Sports Association (adh).
