The Sports Institute at Clausthal University of Technology has an idyllically situated boathouse on the Okertalsperre (about 12 km from Clausthal) with numerous mooring spots on land and in the water for boats and water sports equipment, and offers the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of water sports activities.

Various water sports equipment is available for rent during opening hours to students and staff of Clausthal University of Technology, as well as to guests (subject to availability).

Currently available:

• 3 Canadian canoes
• 3 dinghies
• 4 single kayaks
• 2 two-person kayaks
• 8 SUPs
• 1 rowboat

Students and staff of Clausthal University of Technology, as well as guests (subject to availability), may store their own sailboats, surfboards, and paddleboats at the boathouse. Both in-water and on-land storage spaces are available. Surfboards may also be stored in the boathouse during the winter months (October 31–April 30). Information is available at the TU boathouse or from the two contact persons.

A fee of €20.00 per launch must be paid to the Ruderervereinigung Nordharz (RVN) for launching boats.
