Canoeing (canoe polo and whitewater kayaking)
Whitewater Kayaking: Registration for students, staff, and guests via email to the club president.
Canoe polo: Weekly registration via the University Sports registration system.
The Clausthaler RainRiders are the kayaking group of the TUC Sports Institute. We meet regularly to play canoe polo—a dynamic mix of paddling, handball, and rugby—on the Oker Reservoir at the TUC boathouse and at the Clausthal-Zellerfeld recreational pool. You’ll also often find us on our home stretch, the Oker. It’s northern Germany’s most famous whitewater river and offers exciting whitewater fun for beginners and advanced paddlers alike.
“Have fun and stay safe!” is our motto. Give it a try! We’d be happy to teach you the Eskimo roll and other basics of whitewater paddling. If you’re interested, just ask where we are—we’d love to have you join us.
